@MikeHemingway. No he didn't. It was Nikola Tesla. Edison was the first to patent the light bulb not invent it.
Regardless of who invented it I think its beautiful and would love to display one in my home
SCIENCE FIGHT !!!
Cool bulb, lot of interesting filament stuff being produced these days.
cool
@LeGonzo Tesla created the bulb that would work with AC, which is what we use today, but the first light bulb (the small DC-powered orange-brown bulb) was made by Edison.
Tesls also gave us the 3-phase ac motor.
@MikeHemingway I apologise, correction, Tesla didn't invent the DC bulb. However I'd argue neither did Edison. "Edison made improvements to the idea of incandescent light, and entered the public consciousness as "the inventor" of the lightbulb, and a prime mover in developing the necessary infrastructure for electric power." In fact, all he did was figure out how to sell the lightbulb and slightly improve the designs that 22 other men had worked on before him. Not a great feat.
It is a damn cool light fixture though :P I want one.
it doesn't say Edison light bulb :)
