I guess it only heated the shavin cream or you can use the normal shavin cream. All you do, is to put your hands under than it automatically put the cream out.
Warmth opens your pores, so if you put something cold on your face before shaving your pores will close and you wont get as good a shave as you would if your pores were open. A warm wet face towel works well.
