Not all shredders are expensive. I use this one http://www.overstock.com/Office-Supplies/Meridian-Point-Battery-Operated-Portable-Hand-Held-Paper-Shredder/6673187/product.html thing is you can throw it in a drawer when done.
I have a delightful shredder from Staples that, I swear, was designed using Soviet Stalinist technology...it gladly devours virtually anything I toss into its angry maws and reduces it to its base molecules. Security is insured, and its great fun!
