I was given a carbon steel sabatier chefs knife when I moved out to go to uni. Fantastic knife. My dad got one when he went to uni and his is still in our knife draw back home.

I love wooden handle knives. If they aren't comfortable as is, you can easily modify them to fit your hand perfectly. Being high quality steel, you'll never need another set and they will hold an edge much much longer.
