Wow. that's actually really cool. And no, Betta fish do not need filters. It is a good idea, however to filter a Betta's water to reduce ammonia buildup, but they prefer calm waters as they live in slow moving rivers, streams, shallow ponds, and rice paddies in Asia. :) These tanks still need cycled, I'd think since they still have filtration, but I've never seen this type of aquarium until now. I want one. Or two!
It doesn't look like there's any openings or ways for the fish to get air. Bettas are surface breathers unlike other fish. You can't put one in a tank of there's not airspace on top of the water.
Grow fresh produce right in the comfort of your own home – beans, basil, thyme, baby greens, mint, parsley and so many other delicious foods! The closed-loop eco-system uses the fish waste to naturally fertilize the plants above. In turn the plants clean the water for your pet fish.

Beta fish don't need filters, but obviously they need food. They thrive in murky, still waters.
Lol it's so cute

I wanted to ask- how big is this, and how many gallons of water does it hold? :) Thanks.
