If u look at it closely, the made over figures are not even heroes. Those are Joker, Brother Mc Donald, evil Santa, etc. So I strongly believe this is not meant to make fun of supposedly respectful historical monuments(from distant on-lookers' POV).
This is, in all human's respected rights to speak, a sarcastic, audacious and painful slap right into the face of once communist representatives, who for as long as they could have with their brainwashing, cheated on thousands of commoners' belief and hope for a better life after they all take side to fight capitalism under the Soviet flag.
Now it is these very communists themselves turn their face off for capitalist benefits and the people, after brainwashed, now receive crimes, terrorism, and other similar offers inherited from capitalist societies. So eventually, same l'miserables. Only the evil change its make-up and wardrobe.
If so, then in a nut-shell, this is a powerful piece of satire that deserve creative and social credits, considering also its selective approach using graffiti.

First of all its not Sohia - its SoFia; I am from Bulgaria and I dislike this. Whatever happened in the past is part of our history and this is disrespectful.
This is a memorial to soldiers who died. It doesn't matter which conflict they fought in or on which side, they at least deserve some respect. I appreciate the art in this - these men were superheroes in there own way I suppose. I doubt they would see the joke though.
You people need to stop fucking crying we understand it's a memorial but it's a joke and I'm sure it didn't stay this way so who cares? Just appreciate the detail in the artwork or gtfo and don't bother fancying it. -____-
I doubt there was ANY sort of criticism towards Soviet Union in that piece of vandalism. Instead of simply drawing dicks they were more creative this time. Besides, this monument has nothing to do with politics its dedicated towards the liberation from nazi occupants.
I think it is amazing because there are none cartoons statue except maybe in Comic Gotham City. but I would not like Mona Lisa being tagged. Just put under a transparent cover on official monument, Grafitti are everywhere. I'm just off a museum, ORSAY Museum and Courbet and other painters use old paintings to paint new ones. Art for the artist is to destroy old figures and get new ones. Their contemporaries do not adopt this vision but artist needs to create new and not contemplate oldies. I don't think it about disrespect. it is just samo samo. it is outlaw. I would not like to be caught. Mob is not a lenient body. this person should have done it on a copy not on the original.
