^I can agree that this is ugly. But I would mos def spend the money to have it. Every year around the holidays we have mailbox theives. I've gotten gifts and Christmas cards stolen. Rather have this than do monthly payments at a mailing store. You may think its ridiculous until you've experience stolen mail. Ha.
I'm all for it. i dont really think it looks bad..... not great but not bad. if ya think its ugly then get a gardener/landscaper to help you make it look better by strategically placing tne right plants/trees to make it less obvious but still noticeable to the mailman. and then I would wait for the mailman the first mail day its up to show them exactly how it works for them so they are not freaked out by it. reguardless the are REQUIRED to deliver your mail to it unlesz you have a vicious dog chained to it.... lol
This is the steel mailbox that prevents theft by storing mail inside a dead-bolted vault.
The 14-gauge, powder-coated steel mailbox's door locks with two steel dead bolts and is only accessible when the correct code (one to eight digits) is entered on the electronic keypad. If an incorrect code is entered 10 consecutive times, the vault automatically denies further key entry.
Approved by the United States Postal Service, the mailbox has a 10 1/2" W x 2 3/4" H chute that easily accommodates magazines or a box of checks (but thwarts prying hands), the interior holds a week's worth of envelopes, and the flag alerts couriers to outbound mail, which remains accessible between the exterior door and the vault.
Requires four AA batteries. Includes detailed instructions for installing the pole and the mailbox.
