I must agree, the design is far from flawless... But with some tweaking it might end up becoming a good space-saving solution.

I think it wasn't meant to be used as a table or a desk but rather as storage space or a sort of commode next to the bed

Agreed. She doesn't look comfortable at all! Tell me this wasn't designed as table and chair. If so, WHAT were they thinking? Would be better if table was lower and you know, the seat was a seat
