There are better turntables out there. Technics used to have a patent for the motor. But a patent gets dropped after 25 years, so everyone else was suddenly able to copy their motor. A good example is the Stanton ST150.
Not a bad example Mick but still not a 1200/1210 beater. MoS installed some Stantons for a short period but soon ripped them back out again when all the resi's started kicking off. Technics didn't become the WORLDWIDE industry standard through being second best. People will always talk about Vestax, Stanton etc but there is only 1 winner...

Technologically, it's NOT the best, but it was the most widely used by DJs. Thanks to Technics, they're discontinued.
