This replica is not the same...my gramps's one (off an nip officer!)had very nice details to hilt & handle,the sheath too! This is quite plain & modern looking!if I could get a pic of it up here I will,it's at my aunts after nan passed away!that's got real history as was old then...they get passed down the family line!only the officers had the real nice one with silk & gold etc
They did rather plain looking ones in 1942 for officers new to the army!The things can go back many generations & basically have stayed the same...a timeless piece that is modern when u put next to a broad sword or Europe equivalent lol...lucky!i want my pops one!
