Because of the revolutionary nature of the Vaportini’s approach to the consumption of alcohol, it can be intimidating. However, it is simple, natural and enjoyable.
About 5 minutes after the vessel containing the spirits is placed on the base, it is ready to consume. The recommended amount of spirits is 1 ounce. One inhales through the straw and holds their breathe for a moment and then exhales.
That’s it. The effects are felt immediately because the alcohol is going directly through the bloodstream. Most people experience a relaxed and mellow feeling.
Depending on how aggressively a Vaportini is consumed, it is still “active” for 20-40 minutes. There will be liquid left in the vessel after the Vaportini is exhausted, but that is merely the water in the liquor.
The effects don’t last as long as traditional consumption, but that can certainly be a positive aspect.
Upon extensive testing, higher proof works better for Vaportinis as does more flavorful spirits. Their favorites have been: any Absolut flavor, Bourbons with 70 proof or higher (Knob Creek was particularly delicious), Tanquary Rangpur, and Effen Black Cherry Vanilla.
However, the possibilities are endless. They've tried several infused spirits that were very successful. Again, the flavor comes through strongly, yet smoothly.
Higher proof (70+) liquors recommended.

Absolut flavors, Effin Black Cherry, Effin Raspberry,
Hanger One Mandarin Blossum, Infused (lemongrass
and ginger, lemon and tarragon)
Gin:
Aromatics such as Hendrichs, Tanqueray Rangpur
Bourbon:
Makers Mark, Knob Creek, Woodford Reserve
Rum: Barrel aged
Tequila: Patron Cafe, Don Julio
Brandy: Calvados, Remy VSOP
Absinthe

@riemen44 While I understand where you are coming from, I don't think that this law of yours can be applied to all forms of liquor. Assuming that you, personally, are drinking with the express purpose of getting drunk, then you probably tend to go for the higher proof liquor (in order to get the job done quickly) or malt liquor - these can be quite unpleasant, I agree. I will also venture a guess that you've probably never tried a perfectly aged bottle of bourbon or scotch before. These bottles can go for a pretty penny and are designed to be cherished and savored for their taste (for the most part...some are overrated)...then again, this is all a matter of opinion. As for the actual dude inhaling heated liquor vapor, I truly have no clue what to make of it, and I'm intrigued.
