Pretty obvious if you have even owned goldfish that this isn't the size of a normal lightbulb. It's clearly much larger due to the amount, size and number of fish fitting inside it.

Um... The goldfish memory thing is an urban legend. There is a man who trained his goldfish to do a maze as well as nudge a miniature soccer ball into a goal among other things.
This was done by an artist, the fish probably weren't in it for more than an hour with plenty of sights to see though the glass. Plus, there's no easy access for feeding or a plant to oxygenate the water, so it's obviously not meant as a prolonged habitat. Still, it's a pretty picture and neat idea.
it is cruel a superficial toignore deir well being for our own estetic pleasure.... and even if dey could not remember which IS a myth, we have no right... properly done tho dat light bulb tank would be just fab .. make it win win doesnt have to be at de fishe's cost...
I think what @DalieRearden is saying is right. The artist prob just had the fish like that just for the picture op., and there was no harm to the fish. Plus you can't keep fish like that because there is no way to feed or oxygenate the water.
