I have one made by a soldier, with the centre of the cord still intact. The guy donates most of the money to 'help for heros' which is cool. He used a pastic clip in clasp like one on a backpack. Great idea. And these are realy nice with the metalic clasp.
These things are also a double for when you need military grade nylon rope. And they'll replace it if you ever need to use it
