under the slicer, there are really thin slices, but on top there is a huge chunk being cut off. this doesn't really follow logic..
there is a larger surface area on the top than on the sides so logic follows that the initial slice would have a larger mass. ( if you're just looking at the green peel )

Set on top of apple and rotate counterclockwise. The slot is the blade.
Or is it an apple peeler?
