Bertel Thorvaldsen's famous carving of a dying lion (the Lion Monument, or Lรถwendenkmal) is found in a small park just off the Lowenplatz. The carving commemorates the hundreds of Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution, when the mob stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris.
I was actually in Switzerland in december but it is a shame I didn't get to go see this amazing statue! I will definitely have to go see it next time I visit
