its a fixie, you brake with the pedals, old style , not my fave as you have the pedals spinning like crazy when going downhill- i'm all for coasting and using at least one brake- single speed style.
but that can be easily converted and brake added. what a beauty though? When i was in Detroit for 9 mos i barely saw fixies and single speeds, i guess that is going to change.
Absolutely gorgeous. Flat cities are fine for fixies, and I like them. A lot of NY bike messengers rode fixed because they're light and a pretty cheap setup that's simple to repair and maintain, and it seems like the trend of fixed blowing up again has a lot to do with them. Whatever, nice bike, period, I want it.
@Brianenwill I agree about the messengers, they ride like kamikaze and were definitely inspirational. Its funny how the cheap setups turned into $1000 bikes though. When i asked that question of a bike builder in WIlliamsburg , he nearly had a coronary in the store.
@ushkaphotography I asked the same thing, no one knows exactly how to respond, and it's probably a lot to expect them to acknowledge "Well, because they're really cool right now." I love bikes, and I can't complain too much; without the hype, these Williamsburgisms being exported all over the country (even to Manhattan), this bike might not have come to fruition.
For sure . ITs all over now. THey have them in MIami Beach now the home of beach cruisers. For what's its worth a light bike is worth its weight in gold .
copper plated frame
"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARR" Were be the brakes???
