Love it, but I agree that it would be difficult to get to books at the top. And I can't stand useless design - functional and beautiful is best, in my opinion.
I agree with ThomasB -- it's a beautiful piece of functional art that can be changed on a whim.... Perhaps color-codeing the books, creating a pattern, etc
