R&R Wax Canvas Weekender by Defy. Inspired by Israeli Defense Force standard issue field duffles, this bag is decidedly not standard issue and is perfect for any mission.
Nearly indestructible 18 oz. Martexin Wax Canvas twill exterior provides ballistic strength structure and a patina that only gets better with age. The interior is handcrafted of soft black canvas material. The closure is an imported heavy gauge $22 a piece RiRi Aquazip water resistant zipper. The adjustable and removable shoulder strap use solid steel hardware commissioned from a US military supply company.
Full-grained Horween Austin Calf leather pocket, trim and strap handle are first chromium tanned, which makes the leather supple and durable, and then re-tanned with vegetable tannins — derived from tree leaves, bark, and other plant material — to allow it to patina well and to be easily shaped.

Defy was founded in 2008 by Chicago art director Chris Tag. Compelled to leave the comforts of an established advertising career to build something truly unique, Chris set out to create a new American classic. At first Defy was a one man show with Chris designing bags till the early morning hours while still holding down his day job. Then one fateful morning on his commute to the city, he was approached by a stranger asking him where he got the bag he was carrying. A quick stop to the nearest ATM later, Chris sold his first bag. Call that moment a turning point.
