Dahlia Noir Eau de Toilette by Givenchy
Dahlia Noir, a feminine and mysterious name referring to a flower that does not exist: the black dahlia, a flower of paradox. The dahlia is a flower that is very symptomatic of Givenchy’s style, structured and rigorous, yet very feminine and soft. The black color in the name adds a mysterious effect to the fragrance.
The Dahlia does not have a scent, which leaves room for imagination and fantasy.
The fragrance was created by François Demachy and Riccardo Tisci, who envisioned a round cocoon-like perfume, embodying the Givenchy vision of luxury: an elegant fragrance that one smells when getting close to the person who wears it. It has a real personality, yet is reminiscent of a tradition of beauty and femininity.
The bottle is a pure object of sophistication, very sober and rigorous with its sharp architecture. Givenchy Paris appears on the front of the bottle like on the very first Givenchy fragrances, to reaffirm the French and Couture heritage. The structured, heavy cap adds a masculine touch which is softened by the salmon pink color of the juice, and luminous silver touches which underline the edges of the cap. Like a precious secret, Dahlia Noir is debossed on the silver plates hidden underneath the cap.
